ClearCorrect (R) Clear Aligner Therapy

At West Hills Smiles, patients have grown accustomed to family-friendly general, cosmetic and restorative dentistry from some of Southern California’s top-rated dentists. Our gentle, patient-centric approach has inspired our patients to come back regularly, knowing they can trust the expertise and integrity of our  West Hills dentist office. However, this warm, gentle approach to dentistry has not stopped us from remaining at the forefront of any advancement that could benefit the well-being of our patients. That’s why we’re adding ClearCorrect braces to the list of options offered to our patients.

Invisible braces of course provide every orthodontic patient with the confidence of a beautiful smile, unhindered by unsightly metal over the teeth. However, with Clear Correct in West Hills Smiles, patients get all the same benefits as other transparent brace systems but for a significantly reduced cost.

Illustrating a substantial step forward in orthodontic technology, ClearCorrect braces are custom-made with computer precision. Not only are they ultra-thin, flexible, and invisible, but they’re removable as well. When flossing, brushing or eating, patients are able to remove their braces, allowing for maximum comfort and a more hygienic experience. Treatment time can vary from one to two years, but with the convenience and transparency of ClearCorrect, the entire experience will be over without ever becoming a serious burden.

Patients thinking about their orthodontic options need only come to West Hills Smiles to learn more about their options, and to get a full  smile makeover, if interested. We are the top-tier providers of Clear Correct in West Hills!

ClearCorrect Q&A

Q: What are ClearCorrect aligners made out of?

A: ClearCorrect aligners are made from Zendura, a custom formulation of medical-grade polyurethane which has been thoroughly tested for biocompatibility.

Q: Are there any dietary restrictions while wearing aligners?

A: Our dental experts recommend avoiding hot liquids while wearing aligners, since they can distort the material. Coffee and tea can also stain aligners, and sugar can get trapped between the aligners and a patient’s teeth. In fact, we recommend removing the aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water.

Q: Is it normal to feel pressure when wearing ClearCorrect Aligners?

A: When starting a new aligner, patients often feel some degree of pressure, however, the pressure gradually subsides as the aligner is worn over a typical three-week span.

Q: What if my aligners aren’t fitting comfortably?

A: If you’re receiving a new aligner, try wearing your previous aligner for an extra couple weeks. This could help teeth to complete the movements scheduled for the next step. If you have short clinical crowns, you may require engagers to help seat the aligners over the posterior teeth. If neither of these options is applicable for your situation, your West Hills Smiles Dentist will investigate to figure out your best course of action.

Q: If I habitually grind my teeth, can I still be treated with ClearCorrect?

A: Habitual tooth-grinding can make clear aligner therapy difficult, as the constant grinding of the teeth wears down the aligners to the point that the material loses its retentiveness. However, in some cases, a West Hills Smiles dentist can adjust the aligner schedule to keep up with replacement needs.
